Frequently Asked Questions
Which YAML features are supported?
The common subset: nested maps, lists, lists of maps, single and double quoted strings, numbers, booleans and null. Advanced features like anchors, multi-line block scalars and tags are not supported.
Why did my value become a number?
Unquoted values that look numeric (like 3 or 4.5) are converted to JSON numbers, which is standard YAML behavior. Quote them ("3") to keep them as strings.
